Gina Carano vs Kelly Kobold

It was a highly anticipated bout between Gina “ Conviction” Carano and Kelly Kobold. Unfortunately for Kobold she happened to be in the cage with someone she completely underestimated. Do not let Carano’s good looks fool you; she is a heavy puncher with lightening quick reflexes.

It was evident in the first round that it would be a long night for Kobold who came into this fight with an impressive 16-2 record herself. After the opening bell both fighter came out punching, exchanging blows in the middle of the cage. Those were soon followed by a hard knee to the face by Carano. After the first round it was clear by the blood pouring down the face of Kelly Kobold that she was in over her head.

The second round proved to be more of the same punishment for Kobold, who never really had Carano in a dangerous situation. When it came time for the third round it was evident that Carano was finished toying with her opponent and attacked with a barrage of kicks to the face.

In the end Gina Carano, whom is also known as Crush on the hit show American Gladiators, would win by unanimous decision by a score of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28. Canrano’s next challenge will likely come in the form of Brazilian Cris “Cyborg” Santos, whom handily put a hurting on Japans Yoko Takahashi during the undercard of last nights fight.
When asked at a post fight press conference what her thoughts were in regards to fighting “Cyborg”, Carano had this to say, “I have to get back in the gym and definitely train hard for a fight with her, all the respect in the world for Cyborg.”

It will be a fight that many will want to witness as two hard hitting ladies go after each other with only one thing to wonder, who will come out on top as the undefeated Carano takes on the 6-1-0 Cris Santos. Either way Elite XC has a promising fight on their hands.
