Hard Knocks Undercard

In other notable bouts:

In a match that looked more like a club sparring session Jose Nieves (16-1-2, 8 KO’s) dominated an otherwise slow fight against Jose Garcia-Bernal (26-14-1, 17 KO’s). In the end the judges would award the fight 58-56, 60-54, 59-55, a unanimous decision in favor of Jose Nieves.

A hard hitting William Deets Quintana (1-7, 1 KO) faced Timothy Taggert (3-1, 2 KO’s) in a four round contest. The bout would go to the judges who gave Quintana the decision by a unanimous score of 39-37 by all three judges.

Making his pro debut against Yathomas Riley (4-0, 3 KO’s) was Evjeny Stardubtsev who was thoroughly manhandled by the obviously stronger opponent. After being knocked down by a hard right in the second round, the rookie would survive the four round contest gaining a moral victory at minimum as the contest would be awarded to Riley by a score of 40-35 given by all three judges.

Jonathan Cepeda (2-0, 2 KO’s) and Marvin Blair (2-2-1) fought in what looked like an uncoordinated slow dance as Blair continually help Cepeda. The West Palm Beach native would punch through that hold as Blair would be knocked down twice in the 2nd Round. After 4 rounds the judges would score the fight 39-35, 40-34 twice giving Cepeda the win and continuing his undefeated record.

Also making a pro debut was Havana, Cuba native Stalinn Lopez who battled Jean Petit Homme (2-12-4, 2 KO’s). The rookie had a decent showing in his first pro fight which ultimately would go to the scorecards and a score of 40-36 unanimously giving Lopez his first professional victory. In an interview with Lopez, the hard hitting right hander told Total-E-Sports.com, “I hope this is the first of many victories. I would like my next fight to come quickly as to not prolong my downtime.”

Jonathan Gonzalez of San Juan, Puerto Rico made his pro debut against Alejandro Arteola of Miami, Fl also making his pro debut. Gonzalez would knock out Arteola 0:48 into round 3.

In a lackluster welterweight bout Antwone Smith (13-1-1, 8 KO’s) and Benjamin Ankrah (9-8, 1 KO) under whelmed the crowd who up to this point in the night had been a rowdy crowd. After what was seemingly and endless 8 rounds the judges would score this fight 77-75 twice, 79-73 in favor of Antwone Smith, a decision that was very unpopular with the fans.
