Hurricane Warning in Omaha!

Get the Corn Fields ready… The College World Series and the Miami Hurricanes are heading back to Omaha!

After a rocky road through the Arizona Wildcats during the Super Regional, the 1st place Miami Hurricanes are ready to blow through Omaha and back to Miami with their 5th national championship. An impressive 53-8 record this season has brought life back to this hurricane season, the likes of which are being enjoyed by everyone proudly wearing green and orange.

With the Hurricane football team moving to Dolphins Stadium, all attention was turned to them. This group of ballplayers has turned the conversation on its head and forced an otherwise football minded city to take note of what was going on at Mark Light Stadium.

For some, like power-hitter Yonder Alonso, and Second Baseman Jemile Weeks, this will be a swan song performance in Omaha. Having been drafted in the first round of this weeks Major League Baseball Amateur draft, the juniors are likely off to chase their dreams of playing professional ball, but first comes the dream sequence of heading off to the pros wearing a CWS championship ring.

''A lot of work goes through it, in the fall and the summer,'' Alonso said Sunday, after a 4-2 victory over Arizona, ``All you think about is Omaha. Once you get there, it's nice, but now we need to take care of business. It's not just a vacation over there.''

The sports fan in Miami is usually considered to be a front runner. Well, if that is the case, get behind these boys and show them that you are behind them. If it’s a winner you are looking for, you got them. Follow them proudly to Omaha, waving the same banners you find the ability to dust off every fall when football season starts. There are many stories that never get told, however, as long as America’s National Pastime is played in it purest form amongst the fields of Nebraska, there will always be a story of a boy and a dream!
